PERFECT FOR
4
days
In this unique 4 day workshop, aspects of the horse and rider dynamics will be evaluated. How rider posture, saddle movement, equipment and equine gait are inextricably linked in the complex coupled system.
Riding horses exposes them to increased risk of injury and insults to well-being; it is therefore important, that we strive to develop our understanding of what may compromise the horse’s welfare. The effects of being ridden are undoubtedly of great importance to the way in which the horse moves, behaves and performs but remain poorly understood.
We will spend time evaluating all of the combinations of ‘horse, saddle and rider’ and discuss and observe how they influence each other, but also move independently through their individual freedoms of movement. A better understanding of the effects of the rider is of critical importance, since many orthopaedic symptoms become transparent exclusively in the ridden horse.Nothing happens until something moves, but in the case of horse, saddle and rider interaction, when something moves, everything can fall apart...
