COURSES EXTERNSHIP

As with every Equinology® course, once you have finished the onsite component, you have the option of completing an externship and having your work reviewed and marked by our team.  While this is an optional component we highly recommend completing the externship as it cements all of your new skills and is a wonderful opportunity to receive personal feedback from us.  Also, you will not be eligible to gain insurance, charge for your services or call yourself an Equine Body Worker until you have successfully passed your externship (i.e..it’s important!).

1. Using a minimum of 5 - maximum of 8 different horses, complete and document a total of  20 x Equinology Equine Body Work sessions. Submit all EBW documentation including initial history, static & dynamic observation form, session form and a narrative summary for each horse.

2. Complete 2 x Muscle Identification & Equinology® Equine Body Worker Point Location

Labelling Sessions and outline the function of all muscles.

3. Gait evaluation of three horses under saddle and in hand. Submit a discussion style report of your observation of gait comparisons and evaluation. Students utilise the detailed Equinology® Dynamic Observation Checklist as a guideline.

4. Submit a Video Recording of the full Equinology® Equine Body Work Routine including Stretches and Range of Motion Techniques.

The E100 externship takes 120-150 hours to complete independently in the field and you have 6 months to submit your work. We encourage you to take the full 6 months to practice your skills and allow the techniques to become second nature.
