Equinology Equine Body Workers (qualified), Equinology ANZ students currently completing their EQ100 Externship.
The EQ1600 is a very special opportunity for a handful of Certified Equinology® EBWs in Australia to spend the day alongside a Master EEBW in the field. The MEEBW will work with a small selection of real clients from a range of disciplines, presenting with a range of different issues. We create a truly fascinating, confidence building process for those involved. This will be the first time this opportunity is presented in Australia and is designed to be a highly practical experience.
In 2020 the featured MEEBW is the one and only Debranne Pattillo - Equinology founder, Equinology Inc CEO, author of ‘The Anatomy of Equine Body Work’ and creator of the internationally renowned Equinology Equine Body Worker Certification

Despite her busy teaching schedule across the globe and commitments in running her own company, Debranne has continued to practice in the field professionally and refine equine body work in to what can only be described as a fine art. Her monthly client base is strong and spans a wide selection of equine athletes from the highest levels of many disciplines. She delivers powerful results and is known for her effectiveness and precision.
Students will watch how Debranne ‘works’ as she completes each phase of an Equine Body Work session with real client horses:
1 > Initial Intake & Information Gathering:
Effectively and efficiently undertake the static and dynamic evaluation
Recording findings in shorthand
Creating a powerful session plan
Preliminary Saddle & Tack review
2 > The Equinology® Equine Body Work Session:
the decision making process: which moves / sequences to use and which order to place them
balancing a session: targeting areas of concern with relaxation
application of DP and CFF / working with intent
keeping track of observations that arise during a session
knowing when to stop
3 > Feedback to Client:
decisions on most effective follow up stretches and body work
how to ‘teach’ clients follow up work
managing potentially difficult questions and conversations with clients
long term body work plans.
We will conclude each session with an informal group discussion to address any unanswered questions and discuss possible longer term health care strategies for each horse.
The intention of this day is that you will have a very intimate, connected and confidence building experience with both Debranne and other EEBWs. You will be given ample opportunity to ask questions, place your hands on the horse to ‘feel’ what Debranne can feel, and there is often opportunities for you apply a technique or two alongside Debranne.
We will work with three horses across the day and aim to represent different disciplines, ages and ‘types’. There is no externship attached to the EQ1600 - it’s all about showing up, having fun, building confidence and meeting your colleagues.
We will also have a fully catered group lunch (dietary requirements taken care of) so you can have even more time connecting and strengthening your professional network.
